Adidas Yeezy 350 Boost V2 “Blue Tint” Sizing Review

January 20, 2018

Most sneakerheads would agree that Adidas’s Yeezy collaboration with Pop Culture icon Kanye West has been at the forefront of sneaker culture since the high profile collab burst onto the scene in early 2015. Now, almost three years later, we have received a variety of Yeezy Boost models. The most popular of those models in both availability and colorway selection being the 350 Boost V2. However, the sneaker is far from being considered a general release, so when a lucky sneakerhead gets their long awaited shot to purchase the coveted sneaker arguably the most pressing question on their mind is “how will the sneaker fit”? Should I buy true-to-size? Should I buy a half size up/half size down? My goal is that this review will ease your mind and make that question clear.

The direct answer to this question in regards to the “Blue Tint” colorway is that they fit a half size small. I recommend that you buy at least a half size up. I purchased my pair assuming they fit true-to-size, however they fit very snug. In terms of length they do fit true-to-size. However, the sleek ascetic of the shoe forces the sneaker to come to a slim point at the toe box (front of the shoe) giving the Yeezy Boost its signature look, unfortunately this makes for a tight fit in the front half of the sneaker. This makes the shoe uncomfortable in both height and width, cramping your toes from the side and forcing the laces to sit uncomfortably on top of your foot.

The issue of height can be partially addressed by simply removing the sole from the inside of the sneaker, giving you an extra quarter inch or so of space within the shoe and creating more room to separate your foot and the lace on the inside of the sneaker (this is what I do with my pair). Luckily the thick boost midsole within the shoe provides unmatched comfort even with the absence of the insole. Unfortunately, there is no way to directly address the issue of width. For this reason, I recommend buying a half size up to give you a more “true-to-size” feel. Buying a whole size up will also suffice, if you desire a very loose fit.

So, in conclusion. The Adidas Yeezy 350 Boost V2 “Blue Tint” is a beautiful sneaker, which I highly recommend to any sneakerhead. And if purchased in the right size, the Blue Tint will definitely become a frequently worn sneaker in your rotation.
